Silent Auction Tips

Once the prizes are rounded up and the bidding sheets are prepared, the rest is simple:

	Color code the tables with colored tablecloths and colored helium balloons (party supply store).
	Put the goods on the table so people can touch and feel them before the auction begins.
	You will need one clipboard for each bid form.  They are 99 cents each at Office Max.
	You will need plenty of pens – one per clipboard.
	Announce the Silent Auction one hour before it opens so people can peruse the goods.
	Announce the Silent Auction every 15 minutes while the auction is in progress.
	Officially close the tables 1/2 hour apart and be strict.
	It helps to have the tables near a “natural” gathering point, like food.
